NEWS: Desolate Realm climb from the black depths?

Finnish traditional doom-metal duo Desolate Realm have revealed another song in “Through the Depths” from their second album “Legions”, which is set to be released on 17th  March. Formed by multi instrumentalist Matias Nastolin (guitars, bass, vocals) and drummer Olli Törrönen, known for their work in DecayingChalice and Altar of Betelgeuze, the Helsinki-based duo combine the epic grandeur of doom-metal acts like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus with classic heavy-metal of Savatage and Metal Church and the mighty groove of Black Sabbath throughout eight new tracks full of epic melodies and gripping, heavy riffs with this new work inspired by their critically acclaimed 2021 self titled record. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.

The band comment: “‘Through the Depths” is a traditional doom metal song with big heavy metal riffs and crushing drums. We decided to try out a slower approach especially on the verses, which worked great to give some additional depth and dynamics to the song. We feel like the album’s production helped a lot to create the correct atmosphere as well. This is a powerful song in the Desolate Realm way. Play it loud!”
