NEWS: Nvmeral begin the process of burning…

Having already given us the gift of singles “Parry” and “SOL“, Oxford Progressive Post-Hardcore outfit Nvmeral have announced that 27th October will see them release their debut EP “The Harmer and the Fool“. The record will feature both of those songs as well as three new tracks with a music video premiering for “The Process Of Burning” to accompany the news. Comprised of a collection of seasoned musicians with a wealth of experience who have shared stages with the likes of Deaf Havana, Tesseract and He Is Legend during their past lives, the group announced themselves to an unsuspecting World in June 2022, having spent 18 months in hiding, creating their sound with mutual influences from the likes of Alexisonfire and Thrice.

The EP sees vocalist Ricky Taylor looking inwardly and exploring his mental health. Describing the writing process and progression of the band’s first two singles, Taylor says: “Parry was about the constant battle of wanting to be alone, away from everyone, but at the same time being lonely so wanting company and never being able to find the balance. It was about thinking of the worst possible option to find happiness.

SOL” came together around the same time but the track sees Taylor striking a hopeful tone: “It’s about being in the same dark place for years but over time, discovering ways of living with it the best way possible; forming coping mechanisms over time which in turn have changed my character.

On The Process of Burning“, the band reflect on the overpowering impact of guilt, regret and fear, to the point where sometimes just breathing feels like a fight. Elsewhere on the EP, “Far Enough Away” sees Chris Jones examining the state of the world in 2023, struggling to change and wrestle back control as the landscape continually changes.
