NEWS: Oigres walk slowly through the swamps of humanity!
If you missed it, back in March a sophomore album “Don’t Stay Close To Me” from Alternative Sludge Stoner Metal project Oigres surfaced everywhere that you’d expect it to (and some you wouldn’t). The product of the sickened mind of Sergio Vinci of Italian Black Metal act Lilyum it’s an affair which is not only totally DIY or DIE but one which is solely his, having completed everything from music, lyrics and arrangements to recording, mixing, mastering, graphics and production. He has chosen to issue a timely reminder of its existence with a music video for “I Walk Slowly” and having reviewed the album earlier this year, it’s one we’d recommend.
Mastermind Sergio Vinci states: “It’s one of the most introspective and weighty tracks on the album and continues to delve into the theme of mental illness, an increasingly prevalent theme in our society. Due to the aseptic and digitalized times we live in, everyone is abandoned to an ephemeral virtual life, born of a discomfort dictated by overly perfect stereotypes and increasingly inhuman rhythms. Taking refuge in virtual reality is man’s final failure before the Apocalypse. It’s almost here.”
