NEWS: Wolfbastard drink battery acid?
Manchester Blackened Punk wrecking ball Wolfbastard have unveiled a remix of fan favourite “Hail Satan Kurwa” re-imagined by occult techno act House of Verdelet. It finds hard industrial beats and hypnotic electronics colliding with the original’s feral aggression, transforming the track originally found on their well received “Satanic Scum Punks” album into a pounding techno assault soaked in acid while preserving the song’s unhinged spirit.
Si Fox: “We came up with the idea for the remix after a discussion with Conor from our label. The original track is a homage to our Polish friends, done in our usual brutal punk/metal style. We thought what better way to put a different spin on it, than to do a Hardbass remix. Conor showed us some examples of Polski Hardbass and we knew it was going to be something mad.
We were also throwing ideas around at the time for a new music video, so we thought “f*ck it, why not do it for the remix”? It ended up being a lot of fun, even if we did film it in tracksuits in a heatwave.
We all do listen to various forms of electronic music. We have a big playlist in the car for when we’re touring and that features lots of classic dance and trance tracks. You can’t beat racing down the motorway on the way to a show, blast high BPM 90s dance music.
The energy between the genres is very similar, especially at live shows and festivals. We have even started playing New Order’s ‘Blue Monday‘ at the end of our live set. It’s great to see people go from head banging and mosh pits, to dancing like maniacs in the space of a few seconds, sometimes with us in there with them.”
