NEWS: Raised By Owls support Mind with Christmas single!
Raising money for the Mental Health charity Mind, the hilarious tongue in cheek humour fueled Death Metal outfit Raised By Owls have chosen to take on “Stay Another Day” by East 17 as a Christmas single, following last years epic cover of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?‘. You can find out more about the charity here and pick up this Christmas cracker over at bandcamp.
The band comment: “100% of what we make from the single will be donated to Mind, the mental health charity. We feel it is pertinent to donate to a mental health charity this year. It is estimated that 1 in 6 people in the past week experienced a common mental health problem (anxiety or depression). In the UK, 1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts whilst 1 in 15 people actually attempt suicide, with men being 3 times more likely to take their own lives. The statistics show that these numbers are on the rise. The past 2 years have been tough for so many and Christmas time can be the loneliest time of the year for some people. Not only have members of the band struggled with mental health issues, but we have seen family, friends and peers struggle. It fucking sucks. We want to help raise awareness and break the stigma’s around mental health issues. Remember, It’s okay not to be okay. The song is a death metal cover of East 17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ and we’ve recreated the video frame for frame. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed filming it. Be kind and take care of each other”
