NEWS: Grymm Within share charity Nirvana cover!
Grymm Within, the solo project of Vesicarum frontman Glynn Neve have unveiled the first single from a forthcoming EP via One Eyed Toad Records. The track is a cover of the Nirvana classic “Breed” which has been released for charity with all proceeds going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Performed, recorded and mixed at Glynn’s home studio (affectionately referred to as ‘the padded cell’); with guitar-work contributed by Vesicarum eight-stringer Jack Buckley and mastering by Graham Waller, the track is far from faithful to the original and actually sounds like “Landfill” era Pitchshifter. If you’re intrigued by that, you can snap up a copy over at bandcamp.
Neve comments: “From my early teens I have battled with being different; dressing differently and listening to different music to other young people – I was targeted for it! This didn’t help my mental health, I never received the help and support I needed. I used music as an escape and it helped me through some very hard times. I’ve decided to cover some of the songs that helped me through those dark days in the hope that they can help others. My versions have a more metal feel as they have all been recorded in drop E!”
