Chronologically taking place two hundred years prior to the events of their debut album “The 39th Spirit” and exploring themes like politics, economics, and historical events in fleshing out how the dystopian world that was set in came to be, Philadelphia’s Malphas are preparing to unveil “Portal“. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Chris Kelly (Ice Nine Kills, Baby Metal, Galactic Empire) the album is a blend of Symphonic Melodic Death and Black Metal as “Leviathan’s Moonlit Sanctum” evidences. 29th March is all you need to know…
Vocalist and guitarist Paul DeSanctis: “’Leviathan’ marks the point in the story where Malphas returns to the real world. He and his demons murder the power elite figures on the island, but then travel to a nearby village and subjugate the people there. The main character has a vision where he sees a demonic totalitarian government on the other side of the portal; he realizes he’s left the door wide open for them to take over.”
