NEWS: Oblivion Opens hear the Death March…

Three minutes of heart pounding Hardcore, mixing sinister vocals with more groove-driven elements and a blitzing breakdown are all contained within the Pandora’s box that is “Funeral March” from Brighton’s Imposter. Another spilling of blood from the bands forthcoming album “Oblivion Opens” which was recorded in late 2023 with Stanley Gravett at Holy Mountain Studios and mixed by Will Killingsworth (Orchid, Ampere) at Dead Air Studios, it offers an insight into what is being described as a masterclass in negativity. Inspired by the likes of Integrity, Ringworm and Bathory the group have been at the grind stone since 2017, turning the unimaginable horrors of life into an sonic offering that will pull listeners directly into the hellish story of the album.

Vocalist Rory O’Neill shares: “Life is pain. Our natural state is death, free of all pain and suffering. Sink down to the call of the Funeral March and embrace it because it’ll only knock sooner or later. “Oblivion Opens’ comes from losing grip on your mortality – it’s primitively terrifying, but life on earth can be much more sickening. I drew the cover art to represent this vision of terror that I faced, based on old depictions of hell by Hieronymous Bosch and Johfra Bosschart.”
