NEWS: Admire The Grim escape the city limits…
As we all know, after two years at the grindstone, mining, crafting and shaping it, Finnish Melodic Death Metal five piece Admire The Grim will release their debut album “Resist” via Inverse Records on 31st January. The third and final (?) warning of the shape of punk to come appears in single “No Limits” with Antti ‘Hyrde’ Hyyrynen of Stam1na making a guest vocal appearance on the title track. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.
The band comment: “While writing ‘No Limits’, it was clear that this is going to probably be the most difficult song of the album and also the most difficult song that we’ve ever written. Jani [Loikkanen, guitars] wrote some amazing riffs for this one and it turned out to be a crushing song. The over-the-limit feeling and aggressive playing clicked nicely with the lyrics. A 1000 km/h over the speed limit, the song turned out fucking crazy and full of all kinds of happenings with every single instrument. Makes us laugh that we rigged ourselves with a song that’s absolutely devastating to play live.”
Guitarist Jani Loikkanen adds: “‘No Limits’ kind of accidentally ended up sounding a bit like a metalcore song. For a long time I told everyone in the band that this song doesn’t work and I actually wanted to leave it out from the album. Petri, our bassist, told me that this should actually be a single and we’re not going to drop a song this good. After we had recorded this song and I heard the first mixed version, I started to really like it and it turned out great! ‘No Limits’ is a crazy song full of energy. Absolutely relentless, no rest for nobody.”
