NEWS: Midjungards fly where Eagles and Ravens dare!
Journeying deeper into darker musical territories to embrace adding Black Metal elements to their signature blend of Melodic Death Thrash, Midjungards have created for us an album in “Ravens And Eagles” that explores the Gothic past shedding light on the dual forces that shape our world. From that record they have created a music video for the title track, which is now streaming everywhere you’d expect it to.
The band comment: “Ravens and Eagles delves deeply into the intricate duality between darkness and light, weaving a rich tapestry of symbolism that mirrors the enigmatic journey of the Goths through history. These enigmatic peoples arose from the fringes of the classical world, their roots tangled in the fading grandeur of antiquity, yet they stood as harbingers of the Middle Ages, a pivotal force in the transformation of Europe. They embodied the raw, untamed vigor of the Germanic tribes—warriors clad in furs, wielding iron, and driven by a primal spirit that echoed through the shadowed forests of the north. Yet, they were also the unexpected continuators of the Roman Empire, inheriting its crumbled marble and shattered aqueducts, adapting its laws and culture into something new amidst the ruins. In this way, the Goths became a living bridge between eras, their story a complex interplay of destruction and preservation. Within the song, they emerge as avatars of life’s two vital forces: darkness, with its mystery, chaos, and quiet strength, and light, with its clarity, ambition, and enduring renewal. Ravens and eagles soar as their emblems—creatures of shadow and sky—together representing the ceaseless rhythm of existence, where endings give birth to beginnings, and the tension between opposites fuels the pulse of the world.”
