Rabidfest 2025: 5 Possibilities for Rabidfest!
Who? What? How? Why? When? These are the questions that vex the troubled mind as Rabidfest once again look to exchange a few of your hard earned pennies for a weekend of Heavy Metal Madness! The where, when and why are easily answered: The Bullingdon in the heart of Oxford on the 1st and 2nd November, raising money for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. The how, well there is a ticket link at the bottom of this article. The who? Well… Other than your Sunday Headliners Red Method, that remains a mystery. So without any further much ado about nothing, here are five distinct possibilities to join them as we play a time honoured guessing game as to what the other 19 bands could look like…
First up we have a proposal for the Saturday headliner and it’s an obvious choice. Sludge Metal purveyors Raging Speedhorn have just dropped new album “Nightwolf” via Spinefarm Records and have just finished tearing up the United Kingdom on a first run in support of it. Who doesn’t want to scream along to “Every Nights Alight For Fighting” with the Corby massive?
Next up we have Essex Hardcore injected Punk trio My Latest Failure, who are currently working on either their third EP or a debut full length album, depending on who you’re asking. Before that they’ve got a split EP in the works with We Punch Tigers from which they’ve already been playing the tigers ode to “Elon Musk“, the question is, are the Oxford Metal heads ready to chant the chorus?
Another headliner possibly might be London Metalcore merchants Confessions Of A Traitor, a band who have a new album and an American tour pencilled in. That album is of course “This Pain Will Serve You” a 31st May release via Facedown Records and with four singles including the brilliant “Hail Mary” already in cyber space it’s shaping up to be a belter!
They say there is always room for pudding, no matter how stuffed you are from a main course to which we say there is always room for Hardcore. Hampshire homewreckers Sore Teeth are back again like the gift that keeps giving and having recently dropped new single “Rise And Fall” could the three piece be ready to make Oxford spill a few beers in the rush to a mosh pit?
That takes us to our fifth and final possibilities because all good things must come to and ends. Back in September Swindon Deathcore collective Tyrants resurfaced for oxygen with single “Rot” and used it to announce their new vocalist Aaron Steel to the masses. Having turned the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage to sawdust at Rabidfest in 2021, could they make a triumphant return?
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and next year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
