NEWS: Idle Heirs whisper to the Norwegian sea!

A fourth and perhaps final preview of “Life Is Violence” by Idle Heirs has been shared by Relapse Records as the 11th April release date for the highly anticipated record fast approaches. The project partners acclaimed producer and musician Josh Barber with Coalesce vocalist Sean Ingram with “Momma” the conclusion of their debut record. A concept album in Post-Metal recorded at Ocean Sound studio in Norway, it finds Ingram examining the impact his father had on his life, whilst simultaneously contemplating his own mortality and what he will pass down to his children. A determination to ensure that what he leaves behind in the future is markedly different to what he inherited himself is the natural conclusion.

Vocalist Sean Ingram comments: “When the words ‘just a little blood to see it through’ came to me, that’s the moment I found my voice again after 15 years of silence. This thing we fear most that would also bring us the most change, it’s the one thing we spend our entire lives avoiding at all cost. This was a lesson in confronting mortality in crisis, and coming to terms with the fact that I am not built for the things I want to conquer most. Everything is a fight, everyone is upset, we never measure up, but at the end of the day still recognizing that the flesh either works or it doesn’t. Josh played and recorded ‘Momma’ in a single take on the edge of the Norwegian Sea. You will notice the ocean and local wildlife joined him on the recording how it unfolded in that moment with no editing. ‘Momma’ ends our album as our final word.”
