NEWS: The Bleak Picture plan for an exit?

Finnish Death Doom duo The Bleak Picture have issued a second single from their upcoming new album “Shades Of Life” in “Silent Exit“. Building on the melancholia of first cut “Without The I” this one offers more richly textured, sombre and emotive sounds from a dark world which will be revealed in full on 27th June via Ardua Music.

Vocalist and lyricist Tero Ruohonen comments: “‘Silent Exit’ can be seen as a spiritual successor to ‘Prisoner Of Your Own Sins’ from the debut album “Meaningless”. While not a direct continuation, the themes and lyrical ideas are closely intertwined. Both songs delve into how people often weaponize others’ mistakes, sins, or shortcomings, rather than seeking to understand the deeper circumstances that led to those actions. Instead of offering empathy, they choose to judge and condemn – digging the ground out from beneath the individual rather than extending a hand. Tragically, this lack of compassion can all too often lead to a single, irreversible outcome.”
