NEWS: No Kings Allowed have the eye of the tiger?

The masked men that are No Kings Allowed have chosen a familiar path, reimagining “Lion Eyes” in acoustic fashion, something which goes against the grain of their previous aggressive tendencies. The Netherlands and Belgium based six piece continue to play live shows around their sophomore album “A New Era” but in April announced they would be working on a new EP.

The band comment: “After performing Lion Eyes live countless times, we started to feel there was another side to the song—one that wasn’t loud, raw, or aggressive, but quiet, emotional, and haunting. We wanted to explore that.

White (our lead vocalist) took the original guitar-driven track and stripped it to its emotional core. He rewrote the instrumental arrangement entirely—replacing heavy guitars and drums with piano, subtle strings, and layered vocal harmonies. This version became less about rage, and more about sorrow, vulnerability, and the quiet power of surviving heartbreak.

It’s the same story, told in a different voice. A late-night reflection rather than a scream in the dark.

We hope this version brings new meaning to those who’ve heard the original—and maybe even speaks more clearly to those who haven’t.”
