NEWS: Electric Sun Defence swim the Estuary!
The Massacre Cave multi instrumentalist Joe Cormack has resurfaced alongside drummer Pete Colquhoun in new project Electric Sun Defence. Exploring new territories and new depths of emotion their debut album is ready to be unveiled; the expansive, progressive, honest and intense, “Estuary” set for a 8th May grand unveiling via Road To Masochist. Mixed by Graeme Young (Dog Tired, DVNE) and mastered by Alan Douches (Baroness, Mastodon, Cannibal Corpse) it’s an uncompromising, viscerally charged portrait in Progressive Post-Metal. A music video for the titl track is now streaming…
Multi-instrumentalist Joe Cormack: “Lyrically, the estuary becomes a metaphor for inevitability: the idea that all effort, motion, and resistance ultimately move toward the same end. Life isn’t framed as a clean, purposeful river, but as something far less controlled.”
“This reflects a worldview where existence is defined by constant adaptation – being knocked off course, responding to unexpected forces, and continuing regardless. In that sense, ‘Estuary’ isn’t a song about despair, but about acceptance: recognising the lack of control, finding meaning within it, and carrying both hope and grief toward the same horizon.”
