NEWS: Warthrash open old wounds!
Twelve months ago Colombian Death Thrash quartet Warthrash gave us the gift of single “Wounds” and as it transpires, there is plenty more where that came from. The track in point of fact serves as the first single from the bands sophomore album “No Light Shall Remain“, a record which will see the cold light of day on 19th June via Awakening Records. While not a concept album in the conventional sense, the record is said to move through a number of overarching themes of power, decay and confrontation. Recorded and mastered at Area 51 Studios in Medellín, its adorned by artwork from Felipe Mora (Tenebro, Critical Defiance, Necrobastard).
Lead guitarist Merciless: “The songwriting process for this album had two key elements. First, the addition of myself on second guitar brought new ideas and textures to the band’s sound. Second, we wanted to stay true to our identity while pushing beyond what we had done on our previous EP. We didn’t rush the process at all. We took the time to carefully work on every detail, and we believe that shows in the final result – a solid and well-crafted album.”
“We’re really excited to be working with Awakening Records, especially because we’ve been following their work with Colombian bands for a while now. We truly respect the quality of their releases and the exposure they’ve helped some bands achieve in recent years. Our expectations are to reach new audiences with our music and expand into new markets. We see this album as the beginning of a strong and long-lasting relationship, not only with the label but also with metalheads in Asia and Europe.”
