NEWS: Oathswan take us back to the 1940’s…

Filmed in Kalymnos, Dodecanese, Greece, across five different locations of the island by Panagiotis Tsalavrettas, a music video for the harrowing, bleak new single “Nothing” from Oathswan has arrived in internet land. The Greek Post Progressive Metal act have been pushing their boundaries of late ensuring that we receive material of the highest quality while not giving up their creative control in true DIY or DIE fashion.

The band explain: “A young girl becomes pregnant in the 1940s on the Mediterranean island of Kalymnos. Her father, a harsh and unyielding figure, cannot accept this reality, as neither could most fathers of his time. Society itself condemns such acts; everything is forbidden, everything is silent. The girl finds no help, no refuge, no understanding from anyone. Yet she insists on giving birth, believing the child could offer her hope — a reason to live, a purpose, a meaning to her existence. The weight of isolation and fear slowly drives her to madness. She begins to see visions of her life: one with the child, and one without it — desperately trying to choose her fate. When the moment comes, she follows the blood path and ends the pregnancy. Only then does she fully realise what she has done — and she takes her own life
