NEWS: Segmentia awake before dawn…

Filmed in an over 200-year-old Ostrobothnian house called ‘Itämäen talo’, a music video for “Before the Dawn” by Finnish Melancholic Metal band Segmentia has surfaced. It’s the first from a debut album mastered by Svante Forsbäck (Barricada, Elvenking, Swallow The Sun) at Chartmakers in Helsinki to be released via Inverse Records with director Tom Salminen suggesting its the first piece of a bigger puzzle…

Drummer and composer Jere Luokkamäki: “When I composed the piano melody for the song, I was inspired by Paradise Lost’s One Second. The heavy guitars are the backbone of the track, emphasizing the atmosphere I was aiming for while composing BTD”

Vocalist and lyricist Kansana: “Love songs, especially breakup songs, are often some kind of empowerment anthems – I don’t know how to write those. I wanted to approach the lyrics in a broader temporal context — what about when the wounds have healed, when anger and bitterness have subsided? Do we dare to walk the path all the way to grace?”
