NEWS: Hellmetall like Toto?
Italian Heavy Metal band Hellmetall return with their new single “Afrika” to offer another glimpse into their forthcoming studio album, “Mgla” due out on 4th September via Rockshots Records. The band hail form Resia (Udine), a remote mountain valley located at the crossroads between Italy, Austria and Slovenia and use Resian, an ancient Slavic language spoken in Val Resia for their lyrics. Sonically the folk elements they originally started out with have gradually fallen away, leaving a blend of the violence and speed of Thrash Metal with the heaviness of Death Metal, enriched by dark melodic textures inspired by the blend of traditions of their valley.
The band comments: “With ‘Afrika’ we wanted to tell a story that goes beyond a specific place. The setting becomes a metaphor for human nature, where fear, violence, and survival emerge in their purest form. It’s one of the songs that best represents the atmosphere and message behind ‘Mgla‘.”
