NEWS: Wooden hide beneath the veil?

Inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave and shaped by the band’s sharpened, collaborative songwriting a new single in “Veil Of Mankind” has surfaced from Montreal Heavy Metal force Wooden. It’s said to be the first from a new EP that finds them pushing into new territory and perhaps even throwing off the shackles of their reputation as being a “heavier version of Iron Maiden” with the blistering riffs, soaring melodies and atmospheric moments that this seven minute magnum opus offers.

Guitarist Bilal El‑Khatib: ​“This is by far our most ambitious song. It’s very fast and has a lot more progressive metal influence than the songs on our previous album. It’s heavy, but it has melodic moments where it makes the listener feel like they are floating into another universe, similar to the classics from Pink Floyd. At first, the song didn’t have a chorus. Eventually the ideas just flew naturally, and the song was finished in two weeks”
