NEWS: Extinction A.D. plot an escape from Long Island!

Forget John Carpenter’s Escape From L.A. because Extinction A.D. have made it eight singles since signing with M-Theory Audio by unleashing “Escape From L.I.“. After a decade of destruction the five piece continue to bridge between the worlds of ‘80s Thrash Metal, ‘90s Extreme Metal and New York hardcore like they were caught in the Bermuda triangle.

Vocalist and guitarist Rick Jimenez: “Long Island has become such a cesspool for obnoxious attitudes and disgusting displays of hate and division. I grew up here and was aware of this my whole life but over the past few years it’s gotten even more out of hand. Outside of our bubble of heavy music, it seems more like the norm than the exception. Seeing your home area turn into a vile environment is tough. Standing against it, calling it out and letting your neighbor know that hate isn’t acceptable is important”

“This is the second song I’ve sung in Spanish on. I am still not fluent under any circumstance, but I am learning. Flexing those muscles a bit more on this song, particularly, was gratifying and felt appropriate. Switching between English and Spanish throughout the song and complementing that with some more auxiliary Latin percussion was super cool. A tinge of bomba flare and a bit of reggaeton flare thrown into a thrash metal/hardcore hybrid felt crazy on paper but perfect in practice”
