Rabidfest 2026: Breaking Down The Bands #16: Lesbian Bed Death!

What could be better than a fist full of candy and a classic low budget horror movie on Halloween? How about a full on two day, twenty band festival in the heart of Oxford? That would be Rabidfest which this year falls on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November at The Bullingdon. It’s a party and you’re invited, so why not grab a ticket, a friend and get in the mosh pit? Dr Pepper… what’s the worst that can happen? The bands will all be vying for your attention with slick riffs, brutal breakdowns, ripping solos and some scream-a-long charm and the bar will of course be stacked with all your favourite beverages! A wrist band lets you in and out of the venue throughout each day so if you fancy a quick bite between bands, Oxford high street is right outside!

For the past twenty two years, Lesbian Bed Death have been creating Gothic Punk infused Hard Rock and Metal songs inspired by their love of classic Horror movies and all things macabre. Inspired by the likes of Misfits, Sisters of Mercy and Kiss they’ve recorded no less than nine studio albums, earned millions of streams and toured around Europe. Just as an example, this years “Satan’s Cellar” tour has taken them from Stoke-on-Trent to Aberdeen with stops in Krakow and Bruges either side of Rabidfest and if that wasn’t impressive enough, the five piece are known for incorporating those horror-themed theatrical aesthetics into their performances. We’re expecting something both sinful and sleazy in an Alice Cooper kind of way as they encourage the audience to partake in occult rituals from the Devolution Magazine sponsored stage so be warned, you might just get a little more than you expect. When you have a band of this stature who have such a rich discography the question is, what is going to make the set list? Will there still be a place for classics like “I Use My Powers For Evil” and “Bela Lugosi’s Back” or will we get fresh cuts in “Bad Energy” or “Switchblade Valentine“? You’ll have to get a ticket for Rabidfest to find out!
