NEWS: Wooden Shadow share “Blackened Roses Fall”!

In the dark recesses of the mind of Jeremia Ponto thoughts evolve into lyrical themes about nature, the darkness of the human mind, life and of course death. He’s been creating sounds which blur the lines between Melodic Death, Black and Folk Metal for the past six years under the name Wooden Shadow with sophomore album “Silverlake” set for a 19th November release via Inverse Records. The multi instrumentalist and vocalist from Ylöjärvi in Finland has offered up “Blackened Roses Fall” which features a guest vocal performance from Jaana Juntunen as a sample of that.

Mastermind Jeremia Ponto: “This is a song that echoes the longing and despair of missing someone who isn’t coming back. A sentiment conveyed through both the lyrics and the melody. It is like a tear making its way through the forest. Guest vocalist (and good of mine friend) Jaana Juntunen brings out the best in this track; the nuances of her vocals capture exactly what the song needs. I believe, or at least hope, that ‘Blackened Roses Fall’ will make listeners pause for a moment. In any case, it has been a great honor to work on this.”

Guest vocalist Jaana Juntunen: “It was fun making the song, lovely lyrics, and it was fun to sing. It was also fun working on it together, and I hope others like it too!”
