NEWS: Oakenthrone prepare for a vigil!

Manchester based atmospheric Black Metal purveyors Oakenthrone have completed work on a debut album. Written over the span of 12 months by “Ad Silvam” was recorded by the band themselves and mixed and mastered by Sam Turbitt (Unfathomable Ruination, Trendkill, Struck a Nerve) at Ritual Studios in the spring of 2026. The album artwork is an original oil painting created for the album by Simon Chognot (Cult of Erinyes, Moss upon the Skull, Sathamel) with Vendetta Records set to distribute on 27th November. A second single from that is now streaming in “A Vigil Under Sol”.

Mastermind Simon Nagington: “‘A Vigil Under Sol’ is a conceptual piece on the discovery of a decaying god from the eyes of a mortal man. Driven to stupor, a sacrifice is made atop the highest peak under the sun to restart the cycle of divinity. But man, beast or god, we are all destined to return to the soil.”
