NEWS: Martikor announce sophomore album “Acedia”!
Just seven months after debut album “Soliloquy” appeared from San Francisco Post-Metal outfit Martikor the band return with a sophomore seven track affair titled “Acedia“, mastered by Jack Shirley (Drowningman, Deafheaven, Stretch Arm Strong) at Atomic Garden Studio. Featuring guest appearances from members of Glacial Fall and Felsenmirror the record has been preceded by single “Elegy” and is set for a 12th April unveiling, the band’s musical style is influenced by various genres including Post-Metal, Post-Rock, Sludge Metal, Black Metal, Shoegaze, Doom Metal and Ambient Electronic textures. Those combine in alchemy with dark atmospheric elements as they continuously explore experimental sounds and textures, aiming to manifest the intricacies of human emotions through various forms of musical and visual art and utilize art for self-exploration.
Composer Lenn comments: “Acedia builds upon Martikor’s blend of atmospheric sludge, post-metal, black metal, and experimental textures. Conceptually, it delves into the intricate process of mourning, exploring both the anticipation and reflection associated with grief. Each track is aiming to confront and navigate the shadowy corners of the psyche, and the dark nature of the music serves as a reflection of the transformative power inherent in the exploration of complex human emotions.”
