NEWS: Raised By Owls need to step away from the chainsaws!
As they fast approach a decade of destruction in their own right, Derby Comedy Death Metal heroes Raised By Owls have returned to do what they do best. Having previously raised £4347 for The Trussel Trust, The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, Crisis and Mind with Christmas charity singles, this time out they have chosen to support Ashbourne Animal Welfare with a cover of “Break Stuff” by Limp Bizkit. The single comes hot on the heels of their third album “Vol. 3: The Satirical Verses” and a performance on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air Festival back in the summer. You can purchase the track over at bandcamp and support the cause.
“Ever wondered what Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit would sound like if it was recorded by a death metal band? Well, wonder no more… Anybody who has seen Raised By Owls live this year will have noticed that we’ve been closing our set with an extreme metal cover of Limp Bizkit’s mega-hit, Break Stuff. It’s been going down a storm among our fans and we knew early on that we wanted to jump into the studio to record our warped interpretation of this nu-metal banger…
We’re super excited to work with Ashbourne Animal Welfare on this Christmas single and we hope we can raise a good amount of money to really make a difference to the great work that they do. Ashbourne Animal Welfare is a wonderful local charity who take in, care for, and rehome unwanted or stray cats and dogs. The charity was founded in 1988 and has managed to help nearly 10K animals to date. The charity receives no government or lottery backing so is entirely dependent on the generosity of supporter’s donations.”
