Documentary: Uragh talk about “Mo Dhia Maith”, Christmas time and mental health!

Christmas can be a time of wonder, joy and merriment but it can also be a challenge for those who struggle with mental health issues. So there couldn’t be a more fitting time for Craig Murphy, the vocalist of Dublin Ireland based Progressive Metal outfit Uragh to share a video in which he talks about the bands song “Mo Dhia Maith“, its origins, meaning and how it translates to actual mental health in our world right now.

The band comment: “When Craig joined Uragh, “Mo Dhia Maith” was already written and the band had it down. He showed us the lyrics to the song which were very personal and vulnerable, an incredibly brave thing to do considering he hardly knew us. We are dudes in a metal band after all, not sure that mental health is a broadly discussed topic in our scene or amongst band members in metal. As we approach the holidays, Craig’s message resonates even more: it’s crucial to open up and seek help when struggling. If you’re finding the festive season challenging, don’t isolate yourself – reach out. There’s always help available, no matter how hard your exterior might be”
