NEWS: Heruka unveil “Taedium Vitae”!

After confirming their renewed partnership with Rude Awakening Records for an unnamed 2025 EP release last month, cult Italian Black Metal act Heruka have now named and shamed it. Continuing the narrative of their last album “Memorie“, EP “Panacea” is a six-track affair fully sung in Italian with poetry-style lyrics. The theme of death remains at the core of this release, reinforcing the band’s dark and evocative storytelling.

The cover artwork pays tribute to the death of Arria and Paetus, a dramatic episode from ancient Rome. Paetus, a prisoner after a failed revolt against Emperor Claudius, was urged by his wife Arria to take his own life rather than endure dishonor. When he hesitated, Arria demonstrated her resolve by stabbing herself, handing him the dagger with the words, “It does not hurt, Paetus.” The artwork is based on François-André Vincent’s 1784 painting of the event.

Panacea” will be released on 21st March 21 in a limited edition digipack CD via Rude Awakening Records with “Taedium Vitae” now streaming.
