Selling over a Million copies in the US alone, the full debut album from former Nine Inch Nails guitarist Richard Patrick’s then new band Filter entitled “Short Bus” was a must in 1995. Controvercial single “Hey Man, Nice Shot” was seen by some as capitalising on the suicide of Nirvana‘s frontman Kurt Cobain.
Fast forward just 3 years to the self titled full debut album from Boston Massachusetts Godsmack. Released as a single in 1999 at the height of the Nu-Metal era, single “Keep Away” might sound familiar. Slow it down. Slow it right down. And there you have it. It’s the same bassline riffage as Filters hit. Busted!
