Die Another Day is one of Calgary, Canada’s freshest bands. Conceived in the spring of 2019 with a variety of influences including Lamb of God, System of a Down and A Day To Remember, they’ve set 10th April as the date to let their debut EP do the talking. They’ve launched their ship with a music video for the title track “Wild Fire“.
Bassist Tyler Johansen comments on the track:”This is where the head-banging begins. Jared wrote this very aggressive riff and began adding all the extra synth parts that really make the song come together. To us, this is a song that really knocks you off your feet; when that chorus hits the first time, all I could picture was a crowd exploding into this giant mosh pit, and if you aren’t moshing, then those gang vocals will get your voice nice and warm when you join in on the fun. The lyrics are based upon my experience of living in negativity (both physically and mentally.) It becomes draining and tends to send you into a downward spiral. If you were to continue on this path, you’d find yourself losing a lot of relationships with loved ones, and end up really stuck in an endless cycle of burning every bridge/ connection to your life that you’ve made.”
Bassist Tyler Johansen comments on the EP itself: “We wanted to share with the world our more aggressive hard-hitting side of our music. This is an EP that means the world to us as it touches on so many personal notes as well as being our first full outing as a band so we really wanted to come out swinging with this one. It’s exciting to bring more than a single out to share with everyone; we cannot wait to show you all what months of practicing, writing, and recording is going to look and sound like. We really wanted something that will resonate with people or make them think when they’re listening to the lyrics.”
