The Black Map #149: Vakora from Reading!

The end of 2017 saw the emergence of Reading Beatdown Hardcore crew Vakora who had been quietly squirrelling away creating material to reign hell on an unsuspecting World. The quintet played a run of shows, sharing stages with Arcaeon and Visionist before unleashing their first studio single in a year later entitled “Infirmity“. Then came summer 2019 single “Ugly Song“, the first cut from their debut EP “Where Is Your God” which was produced and mastered by Adam Cox. That earned them a slot at Hardcore Halloween at London’s New Cross Inn alongside Osiah and Monasteries by blending Deathcore and Metalcore elements with their usual vibes. Stepping up to a whole new level of sweet pain for our eardrums with lessons learned and the help of Bound In Fear guitarist Kier Campbell in the Mixing and Mastering department and we were floored by their single “Forgiveness” like being broadsided by a Juggernaut.
