NEWS: OPHIDIAN I throw their Diamonds to the sky…
Matching the intensity of the extreme weather conditions often found in their Icelandic home, OPHIDIAN I have built their reputation as a group who test the boundaries of Extreme Metal by creating Technical Death Metal that takes something from each of the bands the beast is comprised of members of in Helfró, Beneath, Une Misère and Atrum and trying to create something greater than the sum of its parts. The result of that is an uncompromising 10 tracks in “Desolate” mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (The Grid) set for a 16th July release via Season of Mist. They have chosen “Diamonds” to show you what they have created…
The band comment: “With ‘Desolate’ we set out to create a very technical album but with a strong emphasis on harmony and songwriting. With ‘Diamonds’ being written late in the process and at a point where we had become comfortable with the direction and sound of the band; it came together very quickly and truly embodied the spirit of what we’d been going for. We spoke to Guilherme about making a video for this song and he was quick to get on board with the concepts we brought to him. The end result came out fantastic and we are ecstatic to bring you ‘Diamonds’.”
