Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Motorhead
Returning for a second time to one of our longest running features of the (almost) last five years, the title track from the fifth studio album by Motörhead is one that very few will not know. “Ace of Spades” is one that is synonymous with the band as much as their mastermind the much missed Lemmy Kilmister and as the years since his death roll by like black clouds on the horizon, the tributes to the legend continue to appear and rightly so. We could talk about Corey Taylor but that simply wouldn’t be any fun now, would it?
So to our head to head and we have to start with Indian Metallers Against Evil whose sophomore album “End of the Line” electrified our senses with nine cuts mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio (Damned Spring Fragrantia, Aguzzi, Across The Swarm) that combine traditional heavy metal, speed metal and power metal with a modern sound and a guest appearance from the legendary Billy Sheehan (Steve Vai, Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs). Their cover was their first new material since and is very much in keeping with the style of the record. In the blue corner we have Where Giants Once Stood, a Toronto Canada based Metalcore outfit who returned in 2021 with single “Worlds Collide” and a new line up with 2013’s “The Changing” very much one of our guilty pleasures. And yes, that is an Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt… Who wins? You decide!
