Vs. Tuesday: One Song! Two Bands! Who Wins? Fight! “Wild Thing” Edition!

Written by American songwriter Chip Taylor, first recorded by The Wild Ones in 1965 but made famous by The Troggs in 1966, it’s a classic rock cover for Vs. Tuesday this week. “Wild Thing” has a simple and easily recognisable riff, it’s probably one of the first songs you might learn as a wannabe guitarist. So in the Red Corner we have Cleveland Ohio bruisers Chimaira, with their version recorded for deluxe edition of 2011’s “Age Of Hell” – the shorter version of the album having been given gratis with the September 2011 edition of Metal Hammer Magazine here in the UK.

And in the Blue corner? Former Kiss lead guitarist and Solo player in his own right, Ace Frehley. He recorded the song for his 2016 covers album “Origins Vol. 1” and it features a guest spot from Lita Ford of The Runaways fame. Who wins? You decide.
