Rabidfest 2022: Breaking Down The Bands #3: Public Execution!

After Disinherit and Pulverise, the third chapter of our weekly look at the bands who are playing this year’s incarnation of Rabidfest finds us taking a look at Public Execution as we tell you why you should not only get a ticket but turn up early to check out some of the lesser lights of heaven!

For those who don’t know their history, a public execution was a form of capital punishment whereby members of the public witnessed what was typically a hanging or beheading often as a way of deterring any further crimes of the nature committed. The last of those to be carried out upon our soil was in May 1868, when Fenian Michael Barrett was executed at Newgate Prison for mass murder havingĀ  participated in the Clerkenwell explosion, which had killed 12 people. Inspired by those kind of events a trio of musicians known for their work in Black Skies Burn, Trading Hands, Negative Thought Process and Aventail formed a Grindcore act in 2020. From them you can expect sonic abrasions of the highest order as the band combine Heavy Metal and Hardcore Punk in brutal fashion with warnings issued in “Breakfast Cans” and “Mullered” which may serve as reference to the kind of drunken debauchery that we can expect when they take to the stage in Oxford…

The Festival will take place at The Bullingdon over the weekend of 5th and 6th November! The first 10 bands have been announced with tickets available here!
