It’s time for the main event. Who are Imperium and why are they worth checking out at the sixth incarnation of Oxfords biggest Metal Weekender? London Groove Thrash merchants of the highest order, Imperium were actually set to play the fifth anniversary of Rabidfest only for life to get in the way. That of course means that this year’s set has become a highly anticipated one as fans have had to wait twelve months to witness a set based on September 2023’s collosal EP “When Kings Meet“. Hells teeth, we described their track “Iron Thunder” as being the perfect Metal cut for the theme music for the next James Bond movie. If that isn’t recommendation enough, what is? The band have clearly grown up on a diet of Machine Head, Exodus and Iron Maiden and want nothing more than to invite you to get involved in the mosh pit. A wall of death is never a place for a full pint, especially one who have held their own on stages alongside the likes of Helgrind, Blood Oath and Red Method as well as surviving the New Blood stage at Bloodstock.
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification, DC Sound Attack and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
