Throwback: “Native Blood” from Testament!

Why was the Big Four of American Thrash even the Big Four? What about Exodus and Testament? Surely they deserve recognition for being the Kings of Bay Area Californian Thrash Metal as much as the others? It’s just over a decade since Testament dropped the Andy Sneap (Fear Factory, Napalm Death, Killswitch Engage) produced “Dark Roots Of Earth“, a critically acclaimed record that features not only mesmerising interplay between guitarist Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson but a powerhouse kit performance from Gene Hoglan. A return to their American  classic Thrash roots that helped inspire a generation, it’s the kind of album that doesn’t rest on its laurels but instead puts you in a headlock and charges head first into traffic screaming “Yippee-ki-yay, motherf***er!“.
