NEWS: Headwreck experiment with Linkin Park!
Offering a glimpse into the future of what they have planned for their sound, Brisbane Alternative Metal act Headwreck have shared a cover of “Lying From You” by Linkin Park. Their rendition will appear on What We Did On The Weekend’s compilation ‘The Better Sessions Vol. 2‘ after podcasters Jason Mack and Matthew Burgess approached the band to join in the fun. The band chose to expand and amplify on all sounds defined by their debut EP ‘Glamorise Demise’ and make the classic cut their own…
“Having loved last year’s ‘The Better Sessions’, we were delighted to be asked to feature on this year’s session and began brainstorming what bands we could rework to sound like Headwreck” explains the band.
“We all resonated with the idea of recreating a song from our childhoods, rather than capitalising on current mainstream music, sparking the interest of covering a 2000’s band. From huge clean choruses to dense electronic tracks, DJ scratches and even heavy rhythms, these were all things Headwreck and Linkin Park had in common. We chose ‘Lying from You’ as the cover not for our love of the song but for it’s potential to sound like a genuine Headwreck song”
