NEWS: The knife rises for Qwälen!
After dropping the first single “Maailma Täyttyy Kuolleista” two weeks ago, Finnish Black Metal Punks Qwälen have returned with a second titled “Kaksi Hautaa“. Both will take pride of place on the bands sophomore album, “Syvä Hiljaisuus” which is set for a 10th March release via Time To Kill Records. Recorded at Waiting Room recording studio in Tampere with Mikael Neves (Death Toll 80k, Tryer) who also mixed, mastering was done by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. While the lyrical themes of 2021’s “Unohdan Sinut” focused on self portrayal, dealing with loss, building anew along with finding alternatives in abandonment, misanthropy and Satan, “Syvä Hiljaisuus” ponders the sheep-like nature of humanity, the inevitability of destruction, the acceptance of being faulted and surrendering to a greater force. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.
The band comments: “This is absolution. We are all sinners, but few say it out loud. I declare my sins and bury them beside me. They are a part of me”
