NEWS: Vintersea search for light in the dark…

Just four weeks after the premier of first single “At The Gloaming Void” from their upcoming new album “Woven Into Ashes“, Portland quintet Vintersea have offered up a second in “Unveiling Light” which showcases progressive, melodic and blackened tendencies. Adorned by cover art from Ne Obliviscaris singer Xenoyr and engineered by Gabe Johnston (Unto Others, Silver Talon), the album comprises eight new cuts and will drop on 5th May via M-Theory Audio. Mixing was handled by the team of Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (Rivers of Nihil, Lorna Shore, Black Crown Initiate) with mastering courtesy of Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, Underoath, Moonsorrow) and pre-orders available over at bandcamp.

Guitarist Riley Nix comments: “We once again worked with Xenoyr, the vocalist and visionary of Ne Obliviscaris, to reflect the complex range of sounds, energy, and emotions found within Woven Into Ashes. As a whole, the artwork represents the journey of our character as they suffer, endure, and ultimately find a sense of peace. Specifically, there are several graphical nods to songs and motifs found throughout the album. It is truly a pleasure to work with someone who enjoys the process of understanding our creative vision and then translating those themes into artwork. When we set out to write this album, we challenged ourselves to make the brutal music heavier, and the beautiful music more breathtaking. What I didn’t know is that we would be doing both on the same song! ‘Unveiling Light’ highlights the extremes of what we do, and I think it is going to stick with people in a very primal way.”
