NEWS: Cognitive enter a blood pact…

Ahead of a run across mainland Europe with Scottish Slamming Death Metal act Party Cannon, Americans Cognitive will drop their fifth album “Abhorrence“. Having already premiered the title track, “A Pact Unholy” becomes the second virgin sacrifice. The story goes that feeling creative, the band began working on the album while touring its critically acclaimed predecessor “Malevolent Thoughts Of A Hastened Extinction“. Recorded, tracked and mixed by drummer AJ Viana (Hath, Replicant, Through The Eyes Of The Dead) and mastered by Ryan Williams (The Black Dahlia Murder, John Frum) it will drop on 17th May via Metal Blade Records.

Guitarist Rob Wharton on the song: “‘A Pact Unholy’ kicks off with blistering speeds, guitars are nonstop, and the drums add to the ferocity, all leading into a dissonant, blackened midsection, and a heavy riff exit, with fantasy lyrics speaking about blood magic, summoning, and resurrection.”
