NEWS: Darkend burn in the midnight sun!

As Italian Black Metal act Darkend prepare for the 14th June arrival of their album “Viaticum” via Time To Kill Records they have shared a music video for “De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis” cut from it by sharpened tooth and savage claw. On the album you will hear the voices of ancient in ceremonial chants, dungeon synth ambience and sulphur riffs engraved on arcane metal patterns. Combining shades that span from Mercyful Fate to Dissection the promise is of enlightenment on an immersive and cathartic journey towards the deepest hidden fields of who we really are. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.

The band comment: “De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis’ is the Eye of Awareness observing itself, in a Time beyond time and in a Space beyond space. In its serene and ever-capturing Gaze, the living dead perpetually aiming to devour the Incarnated Miracle is banished from all planes of Existence and thus deprived of any of its illusory power.

Entirely composed by Animae [vocalist, known for work as a guest vocalist for Gaahl’s Wyrd on various European tours, at festivals and club shows], the song develops through riffs and melodies that embody both the strength of that Fire incinerating the ego as well as the touching uproar of the River of Being finally free to flow without boundaries.

Light from where there’s no Light. Living Water to the rotten flesh
