NEWS: After Smoke Clears aren’t sure your intentions are good…
The first taste of “Intentions“, a sophomore album from South London based Metalcore unit After Smoke Clears has surfaced in “Unintelligent“, a blistering, brutal and honest metalcore anthem that acts as a no holds barred display of unabashed fury. Recorded and produced by Meyrick De La Fuente (Exist Immortal, Vexed, Eschalon) the record has no date as yet, however the band have separately announced that they will be hosting an album release show at 229 in London on November 23rd. Support will be from Iridium, Swarmed and Apathy.
The band states: “Unintelligent is a song about being treated like shit. Berated, and made to feel insignificant, the lyrics tell the story from a beginning, where you’ve heard these things said to you for so long you become accustomed to them, that you’ve become a permanent resident inside your own personal hell. The sample ‘Hell is real’ pays homage to the millions of people around the world, living in their own personal hell, sometimes being gaslit into thinking it’s not actually a problem, or that they’re making it up. But it is an internal reality to overcome. The lyric ‘I’ll take it on the fucking chin’ provides a spark of strength and resilience, which will lead onto a catalytic change of self improvement and development of that spark into a raging fire within.”
