NEWS: Forlorn sign with Spirit!

Folk Horror outfit Forlorn have announced they’ve signed to Church Road Records, marking their arrival at the new label home by unveiling a Stephen King inspired single, “Spirit“. Known for their blend of expressionist art, crushing soundscapes and paganism, they’ve carved out a niche that has taken them on a Death ride across the United Kingdom, sharing stages with everyone from Dying Wish to Destrage and Crypta. Their future holds the following pair:

27/11/24 Brighton, Dust w/ Cane Hill
26/04/25 Cardiff, Noizzefest

Talking on their signing to Church Road Records, Forlorn vocalist Megan Jenkins shares, “We are elated to join the roster of Church Road. An incredibly forward-thinking and ethically-minded record label, it is and has been the home of many artists we deeply admire. We welcome them into our inner circle and now look to our future with them and the horrors to come.”

Feeling a connection between a bass synth in the instrumental of the song and the literal transformation one being makes into another, I took inspiration from the Stephen King novel ‘The Outsider’ and the concept of shape-shifting. There is so much that we cannot see and don’t connect to when we are caught up in the haze of our daily lives. There are forces, energies and beings that are all around us that we are blind to, and many people are OK with that. I connect so deeply to this idea of shape-shifting or “becoming other” through a desire to explore the unseen and travel beyond the confines of this human skin.”
