NEWS: In times of peace, Vertex prepare for War!

Pulling no punches French Metal heads Vertex have unveiled a third single in “War Is Peace” from their upcoming debut album “The Purest Light“. Designed to make you think, it’s accompanied by an equally thought provoking music video. Recorded by the band and Greg Aliot (Kongnitif, Brain Damage) at Ohmnibus Studio Mixed and mastered by Thibault Bernard (Sangdragon, Deathawaits) at Convulsound Production, the album will arrive on 17th January 2025. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp

Singer and lyricist Kik Mastan, a French-Iranian himself, comments: “The images we see of the streets of Tehran were filmed last year, at the time of the “riots”. They are personal archive documents. They show the essence of how a pre-revolutionary movement can appear. And believe me, doing that in Iran is a different kettle of fish to doing it in France. The whole idea of “War Is Peace” is to link political perspectives in the West to those we’ve seen over the last few decades in the East (or elsewhere). To define the word “dictatorship” under a total prism, not just under the biased eye we have here, among rich white people. The title is an explicit reference to Orwell’s work, which I think deserves a complete rereading (or reading ad minima). Despite everything, the 20th century has produced some wise visionaries in our part of the world, and it would be a shame to deprive ourselves of the significance of their writings in the current climate.”
