NEWS: Optical Sun find the devil in the looking glass?
Using not one but two bass guitars in the creation of their dark, gloomy and tension filled sounds are Polish natives Optical Sun. They offer a Post-Stoner Sludge Doom infused Metal sound and have made their calling card the use of samples and visual from old Polish movies. In the past those have included “Przyjaciel Wesołego Diabła” (or “Friend of the Jolly Devil“) directed by Jerzy Lukaszewicz, and “Pan Twardowski” (or “Mr. Twardowski“) from 1936 with their new material being no different. Single “Mój Bóg nie Umarł” (or “My God is not Dead“) uses a poem by poet Kazimierz Raton as its lyrical spine as well as samples from the film “Diabeł” (or “Devil“) directed by Andrzej Zulawski, from the TV series “Przyłbice i Kaptury” (or “Face Shielded by Hoods“) directed by Marek Piestrak, as well as Zbigniew Jerzyna’s radio drama ‘”Gasnące kolory” (or “Fading Colors“).
