NEWS: Augurium get inspired by Tolkien!

Tapping into a more emotional side of their consciousness, Symphonic Death Metal collective Augurium have shared their first new material of 2025 in single “Faith and Death Pt. I'”. As the name suggests, the song is one split clean in half and uses Tolkien-like storytelling to explore the duality of good and evil while being  rooted in the journey of a mythological hero. As if that wasn’t enough, 17th May will find the band taking to the stage in Regina at The Exchange with Into Eternity, Itchy Stitches, Nox Umbra and Elder Colossus

Guitarist Cejay Carnochan comments: “‘Faith and Death Pt. I’ is themed around The Lord of the Rings. Part one speaks to the side of evil. This track was written from the perspective of Mordor’s legions. Moreover, it touches on the eternal struggle of light and dark and how both cannot survive without the other. A shadow cannot exist without the light. Death—the only thing certain for all mortals. If neither side can agree on which god to worship, which philosophy to follow, or what is right and wrong, one thing is undeniably and indiscriminately certain: death. For us as a band, it represents a sort of new Augurium, still within the same style we’ve been playing since 2021, yet naturally evolving. The goal was to create a dramatic listening experience—almost like the progression of a film. There are highs and lows, emotionally driven sections, movements that depict scenes in a hero’s journey, and crushing, deafening moments. This is the first half of a sonic saga portraying the struggle between opposing forces”
