NEWS: It Comes At Night pay tribute to Trevor Strnad!

Boston, Massachusetts horror themed Deathcore unit It Comes At Night, a quartet known for their blend of crushing groove in classic DJent with dark and fearfully addictive riffs, have shared a cover of “Statutory Ape” by The Black Dahlia Murder. They do so in celebration of the life of the much missed Trevor Strnad, reimaging the tune in their own style. If you’re wondering, the band take their name from the 2017 American psychological horror film in which two families are forced to share a house in order to stay away from the threat outside only to spontaneously combust with distrust and paranoia. They even promise a concept EP on the theme at some point…

The band comment: “Today we remember Trevor Strnad AKA “Big Papa”, who was considered widely to be the guiding light in the metal community whose passion, humour, and heart brought us all together. He championed underground bands, made fans feel like family, and gave so many of us the courage to be ourselves through his music. We’re releasing our cover of “Statutory Ape” in his memory, a small offering in our own voice, for the community he helped build. His legacy is eternal, and the ache of his absence ripples on… We’ve reimagined the track not to reinvent it, but to honour it in our own voice. And we’re releasing it on the anniversary of Trevor’s passing as a tribute to the impact he had on so many of us. If you’re struggling, please reach out. You are never alone.”
