NEWS: Progeny Of Sun let their secrets out!
While Inverse Records remain tight lipped about the release date of sophomore album “Prophets of the Void” by Finnish Progressive Blackened Death Metal act Progeny Of Sun, the band themselves are less poker faced. They’ve announced it will drop on 5th September followed by an album release show on 26th September at Bar 15 Basement in Seinäjoki, Finland. That news appears alongside the cover artwork, track listing and second single “Decimation“…

The band comment: “This album takes our music to new heights and offers our fans a unique listening experience. Progeny of Sun enters a new chapter, you will see!”
Guitarist Jaakko Hautamäki comments: “Niko.[Aromaa – Vocals] kindly suggested to Joni ]Kiviniemi – Guitar] that we should have a “pumping song” so it wouldn’t get cold on stage. I looked at my phone to see what the hell this was about. Joni had written the song and Niko immediately wrote the lyrics. Pepe [Juha Peura – Drums] was allowed to record the drums exactly as he wanted, as long as they matched Joni’s demo tracks made by mouse. I tried to participate in the project by adding massive synth sections to the song. In the end there was only one left, but I had to do something. Töle [Tuomo Tolkki – Bass] had been complaining for years that the songs could be a bit more challenging. Joni relented and immediately added two bass solos to the song. Niko also surprised everyone with his kindness by giving Töle a record amount of backing vocals, some of which were even solo parts. So there you have it, and the main thing is that the bassist now has something fun to do at gigs.”
