NEWS: Castrator search for fragments of defiance!

Three years after their crushing debut “Defiled in Oblivion” a sophomore album in “Coronation of the Grotesque” from Castrator explores a range of historical and societal themes that reflect on injustice, victimization and human suffering. Confronting topics like the tragic killing of Mahsa Amini, the ancient Sumerian practice of eunuchization and seething condemnation of predator Naasón Joaquín García, the lyrical narratives are accompanied by a Death Metal soundtrack marking the recording debut of new guitarist Sara Loerlein. A release date of 15th August via Dark Descent Records has been set with “Fragments of Defiance” the second single.

Curiously the band recorded the album across multiple studios with key figures in the US Death Metal scene in order to push themselves to their limits. Bass recording was engineered by John Tardy (Obituary) at Redneck Studios before guitars and vocals with Jordan Milner (The Breathing Process) at Obsidian Audio. Additional guitars were tracked by Taylor Nordberg (Deicide) at Smoke and Mirrors Productions and finally drums with Noah Buchanan (Nunslaughter) at Mercinary Studios, who later handled mixing and mastering. Once completed, the record was adorned by cover artwork by John Zig (Widower, Ominous Scriptures, Urosepsis). Add to that Bob Vigna (Immolation) who filmed a music video for the albums first single “Covenant of Deceit” and you have quite the cast of supporting actors.
